Down the Stairs

Landon has been climbing the stairs for a while. I was told that once he can go up the stairs, I should teach him how to come back down, so I didn't have to worry as much. This summer, he wanted nothing to do with learning to go down. Recently he figured how to go down on his own and he loves to slide down on his belly! Who wouldn't? It's much more fun!

I promise, this is the real deal!

It's finally going to air! Brian and Debbie's episode of, My House is Worth What?, is on tomorrow, Oct 28. You might really want to get the Tivo ready due to the time slot. The show will come on at 11pm, so I already set mine to record the show. Enjoy!

New Job

Not really. I'm still teaching and Andrew is still working for the Dept. of Navy. I just picked up a small job for a short while. I am picking up a few shifts at a cute children's boutique, Two Girls and a Boy. It is located in Historic Occoquan, VA and carries high-end, 'trendy' children's clothes.

I started working here to help out the owner who I met through my neighbor, Martina. Martina and her family [the Nelsons] had to move quickly due to new orders from the Coast Guard.

Today was my first 'real' day and I work all next weekend, while Andrew is out of town. Luckily the owner, and most of the employees have children, so Landon is able to come with me to work.

Happy Birthday

Well, I'm not going to get "daughter of the year" award this year. Today is my dad's birthday, and his card and gift are sitting on the front ledge in the kitchen. I am so bad about getting gifts in the mail, and even though I realize this problem, I seem to repeat it over and over. I did give him a call today to wish him Happy Birthday and I thought I could make up for the lack of preparation by making a post dedicated to him!

Thanks for being an amazing Dad and Grandpa! We all love you! Hope you had a great birthday!

Oh...you must have done something wrong, I never received the comments on the previous post in my email.

All Better

I was told by a certain someone that it was time to update the blog. I needed to update it with happy pictures of Landon! In the last post, Landon looked pathetic. Landon is doing much better and is back to his old self.

One day last week, when he started feeling better, we walked to the playground in our neighborhood to play on the swings and slides! He had a great time, but wouldn't let baby out of his mouth the entire time we played (obviously he wasn't totally better).

Sick Baby

The past few days have been pretty rough for Landon. He started getting sick on Monday when we were leaving MN. Landon wasn't really holding any food down and feeling a bit warm. He was great on the plane, but we knew he wasn't himself. Tuesday, Andrew and I got ready for work as usual. Andrew dropped Landon off at daycare and let Nancy know of what's going on. Luckily I was able to leave school at 10:30 since the last two periods of the day were planning. I was able to pick Landon up and lay in bed with him at home. Soon after we got home I started feeling bad. Andrew came home and hung out for awhile before he had to leave for Orlando for work.

This morning Landon and I both woke up not feeling well. I stayed home since Andrew was away. I have progressively gotten better but Landon still isn't himself and is fighting a fever. We haven't really tried foods but the pedialyte is helping a bit. I had to show you all how sad this little boy looks. Hopefully he gets better soon.

Hangin' out in MN

Sunday we all got up and had a wonderful buffet breakfast and had some more time to hang out. Landon and Riley posed for many pictures. The "big" little boys let Riley and Landon play with them.
Finally! All the 1st McKean girl cousins together!
After we said our goodbyes to family, we went to grandma and grandpa's house since we weren't leaving until Monday. I went into the yard and raked up a pile of leaves for Landon to play in, but he didn't care for the leaves too much. At least I tried!
He even posed with the pumpkins in front of the house.
We had a great time. We wish we lived closer to visit with you all more often!

60th Anniversary

This past weekend, we traveled to Minnesota to celebrate the 60th wedding anniversary of this amazing couple. My grandparents have been a great example to the entire McKean family. They have taught us the meaning of love, marriage, and family. Happy 60th Grandma and Grandpa! This is the McKean family, though we are missing quite a few. We took a family picture at the anniversary but I didn't have it to post. In that picture we were missing only 4 members. The McKean family consists of 6 children (and spouses), 19 grandchildren, and 5 great grandchildren!
Aunt Mo and Kathleen put this wonderful weekend together. The banquet room was wonderfully decorated and on every table was a centerpiece of mums with a picture from Grandma's and Grandpa's wedding day.
Here are the McKean girl cousins, though we are missing a little one.

The kids were occupied, even Landon tried to color!
After dinner, we played a game a trivia based on the McKean family. Landon was able to hang out with his buddy, Riley. They are exactly 2 weeks apart!
Aunt Debbie and Uncle Brian made the trip and Landon had a great time playing with them.

First Haircut

We decided to take Landon for his first haircut today. His hair was getting long in the back and sometimes, from the side, it looked as though he had a "mullet". We couldn't have that! I have been holding out until his 1st birthday (I heard it was bad luck to cut his hair before his 1st birthday), and figured that we should get it done before we headed to MN for my grandparent's 60th wedding anniversary. I wasn't sure how he would do, but he was great. They had cartoons playing for him and he sat in his seat like a big boy!

Getting ready, he looks a bit nervous!
Bye Bye hair!
So handsome!
Look at all that hair!

We're off to MN tomorrow! More updates to come!
