Ga-cer

Landon is really into soccer, or Ga-cer, as he calls it! There's really no avoiding it in our house. If it were up to Andrew, soccer would be on the TV non-stop, Landon has loved watching it since he was younger than a year. I think he liked the bright colors and watching the ball go across the field. Now that Andrew is coaching, Landon is exposed to it even more. He loves to go to practice and kick around with the boys. I tried taking him to a game, but it didn't go well. All he wanted to do was get on the field with daddy and the boys. I'm not sure I'll be going to as many games as I did last year.

I, myself, am not much of a soccer fan. As, many of you know, I'm a runner. I guess I'll have to get used to it, though I will be making sure to put my running influence on Landon and definitely the baby to come.

Look out everyone...here comes the next Pele!

Spring Yard Work

Today we went out and bought new flowers and plants so we could spruce up the front yard. Mommy, Daddy and Landon pitched in to make the yard look better. We had a great time doing it as well.

Ice Cream

Ice Cream Day!!

This weekend we helped the students of West Potomac High School with their "Clean Up Alexandria Project".

We woke early on Saturday and went out and cleaned the streets and cut down old tree limbs and vines. All in all it was a good day.

After the clean up we decided to grab lunch and have ice cream. As you can see above Landon really enjoyed the ice cream.

Twittering

So...have you heard of ....
I have been hearing here and there, but never knew much about it. I decided to see what the fuss was all about. I signed up and have an account, but I'm still not sure what all it entails. If you're a facebooker, which I am, you know about status updates, and from what I saw on twitter, that's all you do.

Some find it alot of fun and even like it better than facebook. I'm still not sure what I think. If you do twitter, come find me!

Another Great Weekend

It wasn't great because of the weather...that's for sure! It was cold and rainy. I can't wait to have sun and warmth. We did have a great time spending the day together as a family. We decided to head into DC again. We hopped on the metro and visited the Natural History Museum. Andrew and I have been before, but they have added a few new exhibits. Landon loves butterflies and that is one of the exhibits that was added.
While we waited for our turn to head into the butterfly exhibit, we went and toured the Mammal room. Landon wasn't as thrilled with this as I thought. I think since the animals we still, he wasn't as interested.

Once we had enough of the mammals, we headed to the butterfly exhibit. We loved it! You walk into a room filled with butterflies flying all around you. The only downfall is that you have to pay, but it really wasn't all that much.

Landon was a little timid at first, but once he settled into the room, he really had a great time. Here are a few of the butterflies in the room.

The butterfly room isn't all that big, so it doesn't take to long to get through. Plus it's really humid and warm, so Andrew was ready to get out of there! We headed to the ocean room. Landon really enjoyed the real fish moving in the aquarium.

There was another new exhibit that caught my eye, Orchids through Darwin's Eyes. I was really interested in reading the info, but with an 18 mo old, it wasn't that easy. I settled for looking at the beautiful flowers.

On a whim, we decided to see Ford's Theatre, where President Lincoln was shot. We didn't tour, but Andrew wanted to see where it was located. We're still getting used to DC and how once your are in one area, you are close to another. The theatre was just a few block from the Verizon Center, which is in a area we have been quite a bit. This summer I'll have to. go exploring with Landon, especially in August when I'm not allowed to travel. Anyone want to explore with us...your welcome to come, our door is always open!

Across the street from Ford's Theatre, is the Peterson House, where President Lincoln died. You can also tour this house, but we just admired from the sidewalk.

Sunday wasn't so eventful, running errands and such. However, we had a great time together.

Fun Weekend

This past weekend, was a wonderful one, for a couple of reasons. The first, and most important, we had visitors! The second, the weather was gorgeous (even though it's cold again!). Our friends, Jace & Eva and Brian & Val came to town. It was a much needed visit. Jace, Andrew, & Brian are all friends from high school and it's been almost a year since we've seen both couples.

Jace and Eva came in Friday night and we made a quick trip near D.C. to see some of the sights lit up. Saturday morning, Brian and Val drove in and we were all off to sight see. Andrew and I have our sightseeing tour down pat! We start at the Washington Monument, head to the WWII Memorial, then move onto the Korean War Memorial, Lincoln Memorial, and Vietnam Memorial. The last stop is the White House.

Not only did we have the pleasure of having our friends visit, but we were able to celebrate Jace's birthday on Saturday. Here's Landon and Jace at the WWII Memorial. Normally there are fountains spraying water behind Landon and Jace, but all the water in all the memorials was gone, even the Reflecting Pool.

Once we were done with the tour, we headed to Clyde's for an early birthday dinner. We all had a great time, but were glad to get home and relax. The birthday celebration continued with drinks and a fun game of Catch Phrase.

Thanks for visiting, we had a great time!

Snow Day...

It's March 2 and this is what we woke up to this morning! Luckily, I already new that school was canceled and enjoyed the "white" morning at a decent hour! I was just coming to terms with the fact that I have 5 full weeks of on and off cold until spring break, when this decided to come. I am so ready for the sun and warmth to come to Va, but I don't mind a day off from school. Andrew decided to take the day too. We did nothing productive, just enjoyed the day together. After Landon's nap, we headed outside to play, but Landon was not a fan of the snow. All he would do is stand on the sidewalk were there was no snow.

Jaxson actually had a great time running around in the snow.

Landon needed the comfort of his "de-de" (baby) and da-da while outside. Standing on the sidewalk only lasted for a short while.

Daddy decided to take Landon on a little run in the snow. Jaxson tagged along too!

New Baby

As many of you know...we are expecting baby number 2! I was hoping to make this post with a picture of the sonogram, but we keep forgetting to take it to work to scan it in. I figured I should get this post out, even though many of you are already aware of our BIG news! I am in my 10th week and things are going well. The baby is due Sept. 25, just a few days before Landon's 2nd birthday. September is going to be a busy month in our house.
