4 Months

Libbie turned 4 months recently and today was her check-up. Libbie weighed 15 lb 9 oz (90%) and is 26 in long (97%).
She has two teeth and is talking all the time. She's not rolling over but rolls to her side.
She also got the okay to start solid foods. I was pretty sure she could start, I just thought I would wait until the "official" okay. We didn't start today, but will begin tomorrow.

The Hat Baby

Libbie is a girl with many hats. It all started before she was born. My mom bought her a cupcake hat and now it has escalated into about 10-15. Most of the hats are hand made. A co-worker of Andrew's made Libbie about 6 simple caps for her, most of which she's outgrown. A co-worker of mine has also made a few for her, and I think there's another one coming. She has had all these cute patterns but not a little girl to make them for....until now!

Libbie in her cupcake hat...
her flower hat (there's a flower on top)...
striped hat...
and her purple hat (a little big, but still cute

Mindy's Birthday

This past weekend Mindy came in town to celebrate her 35th birthday. We celebrated with dinner at our favorite Mexican restaurant and then cake and icecream at the Peck's.

Landon, of course, wanted to help blow out the candles.

The yummy cake! (I'm getting a bit better with my camera!)

No More Diapers

Nope. It's not what you think. Landon is still wearing diapers.

However, we ran out of diapers while away from the house. Has this ever happened to you? This is the first time ever, for us.

We were headed to Andrew's parent to celebrate Mindy's 35th birthday (I'll post later). Before we headed out the door, Andrew & I made sure we had everything. Andrew asked is we had enough diapers for Landon. I thought two would be plenty, we weren't going to be out late. I was wrong!

We were headed to dinner and cake but before we went to dinner, we stopped by the house to hang out. Andrew changed Landon before going to the restaurant, that was diaper 1. Upon our return back to their house for cake Landon was changed one more time since his diaper was loaded, with #1. There goes diaper 2. Unfortunately , that wasn't the end of it. He filled his diaper one more time, but now with #2!

What were we to do? Andrew's parents didn't have any extra diapers at their house, so we had to get creative. We took a towel and tied it like a cloth diaper. It was a bit big, but Landon didn't mind.

Long Time, No Post

I know it's been awhile since my last post, and truthfully I haven't really felt like posting. So much has happened since my last post that I've really had no time to sit down and post, and truthfully, I haven't felt motivated to do so.

Andrew and I returned from a trip to Ohio on the 29th of December. On Dec 31 I was making plans for my return back to Ohio for my grandmother's funeral. It was not the news we wanted to get, especially at the end of the holidays. My grandmother, or Grammy, as we call her, was born on January 1 and passed on Dec 31. She lived a full 85 years! We joked that she didn't want to turn 86.

I was fortunate enough to visit with her in early December and on the Sunday before she passed. She leaves behind 6 children, 18 grandchildren, and 4 great-grandchildren. We have so many great memories from our times together as a family with Grammy and she certainly will be missed.
While Libbie and I were in Ohio, Andrew and Landon headed to a Washington Wizards game! Landon had a blast and even got a jersey!
The other big thing that happened, was my return to work, which I was dreading. I have been back for two weeks now and I am still getting adjusted. I'm actually headed into work tomorrow to try and get caught up. Hopefully doing so will allow things to slow down.

Heading to work isn't all that bad. I actually enjoy it once I get there. Don't get me wrong, I miss being with the kids but it's nice to do something for myself, plus my schedule isn't that bad. School is from 7:30-2 and if I can get out by 2:30, I'm home by 3. The part I hate is the housekeeping. I feel like there's never enough time to make dinner, do laundry, play with the kids, nurse Libbie, etc. in the short time we have in the evening. We're slowly adjusting, hopefully it doesn't take too long.
I've also neglected to keep up with my "Motivational Mondays". I just have so busy to make the posts but I have kept up with weighing in. I haven't been working out, but have been working on managing my diet. I lost 2 pounds before I stopped posting and have lost 4 more! I don't plan to do any posting until after january. I need to focus on getting back into this working routine and then I'll get back to working out and posting!
Landon is doing well. He loves school and is learning so much. He is starting to interact with Libbie much more. Landon is enjoying talking and is starting to put sentences together. We're having so much fun with him.
Libbie is growing like a weed. She already has cut a tooth, her front left tooth. She did that around Christmas time and I think the right one will be coming in soon. She is really congested lately and is not sleeping in her crib, or bassinet. She's actually too big for the bassinet but when she sleeps on her back, the congestion get worse and she wakes herself coughing. We have been having her sleep in her bouncy seat to help with the congestion. Other than that, she's a super happy girl and is ready to get on the move!
