Brotherly Love

I was a little concerned about how he would act or behave with Libbie in the house but Landon has been amazing! He loves to point at her and say "baby" and for the first few days in the hospital he would point at her and say "she frying", translated as "she's crying" whether Libbie was crying or not. Here are a few pictures of Landon loving on his little sister. It melts my heart!

Landon Turns 2!

This past weekend we celebrated Landon's 2nd birthday while my parents were in town (mom is still here but dad let Monday). Not only were my parents there to celebrate but Andrew's parents came too!

We decided on a sports theme since Landon loves every sport that involves a ball. Football is one of his favorites right now, so my mom made this adorable football cake for him. Landon loved it!

Dad made pulled pork for everyone. We had sandwiches, salad, chips, & baked beans. It was a wonderful birthday dinner, though Landon didn't really like it.

Then we sang "Happy Birthday" and the blew out the candles. He loved that this was a party all for him.

We opened presents and it just so happened that many of his presents were wrapped in sports wrapping paper! Mommy & Daddy bought Landon this Radio Flyer Trike that got over shadowed by a train from Grandma & Papa Frosty and a basketball hoop from Grandma & Grandpa Peck. We thought he would love it! We brought it up the stairs as the last gift and he pointed at it and said "bike" and then went back to wanting to play with the train & basketball. It was pretty funny and eventually he came around and wanted to ride the bike.
Since Sunday wasn't Landon's "real" birthday, we did a small celebration yesterday (the 29th). We bought Landon a Happy Meal from good ole Mickey D''s while we ate a pasta dinner my mom made. Instead of another cake, we sang to Landon with a football cupcake. All he cared about was the football!
He opened more presents...
Then got ready for bed! He even modeled his new pj's from my parents. He's such a goof and couldn't resist sharing this picture with all of you!

Happy Birthday Landon!
Mommy & Daddy love you very much!

"T-Bow"

As many of you know, Andrew and I aren't "true" Florida Gators, but we have become huge fans of the team. Mostly due to the fact that two of my brothers are UF graduates and the other is a current student. Plus, my parents are huge fans too! Now that we have children, Landon & Libbie have no choice but to grow up as Gator fans.

Andrew and I also have distant ties to the team. There are two players on the team that were graduates of St. Augustine HS, where I taught in Florida, one of which was a soccer player that Andrew had coached. Also Tebow was the quarterback of the rival HS in St. Augustine.

Since my parents are in town, we spent last night watching the Florida vs. Kentucky game.

Libbie had all her gear that she just received from her Uncle Danny. She got a "Gator Girl" bib, socks, cap, & my favorite....
(get it...Tebow...too cute!)

We were happy for the win, but not happy about the hit that Tebow took. I think Libbie took the hit the worst!

Big Day Tomorrow!

As long as Kelley makes it through today we will have a busy day on Monday. Wish us all the best of luck bringing Libbie into the world tomorrow.

Last day as a family of 3, but we couldn't be happier adding a 4th.

Or as Landon says "Baabby". He is ready (Hopefully!).

Soccer Sprouts

This weekend Kelley and I took Landon to his first Soccer Sprouts session. He seemed to really enjoy the soccer practice when it involved kicking the ball, but when he had to participate in a silly drill he did not want to play.

Landon and I waiting for the running drill to start. Landon came in second place because he ran to the younger soccer coach and gave her a hug. He is already flirting!
Landon's soccer coach had them sit on the ball for one of their drills. He did this very well.

Go Darren O'Day

Last weekend the three of us made a last minute trip to Baltimore to watch the Rangers vs. Orioles game. Andrew & I have known about the game for some time but didn't want to get tickets since it was so close to the baby arriving. We woke up Saturday & decided to just go & we are so glad that we did.

The reason we wanted to go was to see Darren O'Day (one of my brother Sean's best friends & a friend of the family) who is a relief pitcher for the Rangers. Luckily, our seats were close to the bull pen so we went over to see if Darren was around...and he was. We got to talk to him for a bit & say "hello."
Darren even gave Landon a ball from the game! Landon thought that was the coolest & wouldn't let go of it (not even when he napped). We just need to get it signed. The ball is up in Landon's room next to the signed minor league ball from Darren.
We enjoyed the game though there wasn't much action. Rangers lost, 7-0.

At the end of the game we walked back over to the bull pen to say goodbye to Darren & watch him head over to the dugout.
I was so glad that we decided to go. It was really cool to see this awesome guy playing professional ball, which is something most can only dream about!

First Day of "School"

I have officially started back to school this week...just no students. This means my summer with Landon has come to an end, which makes me one sad mommy. I love the summertime because Landon and I have everyday together, which on some days were quite trying, but it was a great summer together!

Getting ready for this week is tough. I have a hard time letting go & adjusting to our new schedule and routine. It's probably a harder adjustment for me than it is for Landon. Not only is this time of year naturally tough, but we were also put in a situation to find new daycare for Landon is a matter of a few days!!! We managed to find a place, but it's new so that was another adjustment & worry for me. I felt confidant that Landon would be fine because when we went to check this place, he immediately new it was a place with kids & started to explore. Even still, I worried.

Monday morning came, and we all got ready for work & school. Landon was is such a great mood & excited to get going!
I, on the other hand, was a bit apprehensive. I said my goodbyes at home. I would be of no help if I went to drop Landon off with Andrew. I would been a mess of tears. Andrew has drop-off duty & I'm on pick-up duty!
Landon was super excited to wear a backpack to school & get going.
Landon did well his first day. He had a few tears when Andrew left, but soon got over it. Tuesday was the same just a few less tears. Today was no problem at all. Landon had no care when Andrew turned to leave.

It looks like he'll do well at his new daycare, I'm still adjusting. I think that by the time I'm totally ok with everything, I'll be on maternity leave! We have until the 18th for Landon to be full-time since that is my last day of school (c-section on the 21st), then he'll go part-time for the rest of my leave.

Students arrive Tuesday. Hopefully I make it through my 2 weeks of school. I have my 37 week appt. tomorrow, it could give me a better idea of when this little girl might make her appearance. If there is any big news, I'll be sure to post it!

Neighborly Visit

This past weekend we had a visit from our old next door neighbor, Jonathan. He and his family moved last fall to Illinois, due to a job transfer from the Coast Guard. We had become pretty close with the family so it was sad to see them go. Luckily for us, Jonathan was in Yorktown, VA for welding training. The training was for 3 weeks and he came to visit us between his 2nd & 3rd week. We had a wonderful time catching up & telling old stories, however we were sad that his wife & two kids weren't able to come.

Landon loved Jonathan. He wanted to sit on Jonathan's lap.
Landon was quite interested in Jonathan's bald head. Landon wasn't quite sure where his hair was!
And he loved being tickled by Jonathan!
Thanks for making the drive north to visit! Hope to see the whole family soon!
