Libbie turns ONE!

Libbie turned one, on September 21 (I know, I know...I'm a bit late). We celebrated twice, on her actual birthday and the weekend after her birthday. In my head, I had this great idea to have a white back drop with Libbie in bloomers and let her "go to town" on a birthday cake.

Libbie had different plans, she hated the cake and didn't want anything to with it. From, the pictures below, you would have no idea, but I chose carefully for the post.


On her weekend celebration, my parents came in town, and we had a little celebration with them and Andrew's parents. Instead of a cake, I made jumbo ladybug cupcakes.

Libbie enjoyed her ladybug cupcake much more than her other cake. Libbie had a wonderful birthday!

Right before school started up, the Texas Rangers came to Baltimore to play the Orioles. This means "Baseball Darren" comes to the area. Andrew is really good about checking on when the Rangers come so we can maybe see Darren O'Day pitch.

We headed to Baltimore and we sit next to the bull pen so that we can chat with Darren for a bit. Darren was so nice to offer a ball to Landon and he signed it!

We sat here for most of the game and watched Darren warm up.

Libbie had a great time too!

More Florida

After Orlando, we took it pretty easy in Jacksonville. I was able to do some wedding dress shopping with KC, I met with some friends, we played with Kinley and Chance, and we hung out with my parents.We ended our trip with Kinley & Chance's 3rd Birthday! We were super happy to celebrate with them. Kinley wanted Dora cupcakes and Chance wanted a Thomas the Train cake. I think they both turned out great!

and Kinley and Libbie hung out together in the family room.
The night before we left we went to visit friends of ours, the Gooch's. They welcomed their daughter, Avery, a month after we welcomed Libbie. We hadn't met her or seen their new house, so we spent the evening catching up.
When we got back Libbie wanted to make sure to pose for pics with Papa Frosty,
Emma,
and Uncle Danny.
We were super sad to leave but so glad we were able to spend almost 3 weeks in Jacksonville.

Orlando

In August we headed to Florida for our last vacation of the summer. We started the trip off in Orlando. We stopped first at Universal Studios to see the new Harry Potter Section. We went with Ali and Danny since they are huge Harry Potter fans like me.
it was pretty amazing to see your imagination come to life! I was a bit nervous that I would be disappointed because it has been getting poor reviews. I was not disappointed at all. There aren't many rides but that didn't bother me. I was impressed with all the details.
After going through Hogsmeade, we headed to the Dr. Seuss area for Landon. Landon and I rode One fish, Two fish and the whole family rode the carousel and Landon and daddy took a train tour of the area.

After Universal, all of us headed for a bar-b-que with Sean, KC, the twins and KC's family. We had a great time and enjoyed great food. Kinley and Chance have a Dora and Batman mask that they shared with Landon & Libbie.

The next day was DISNEY!!!!!

Landon got to meet Buzz Lightyear. He was so excited to see him while we waited in line but once it was his turn to go up Landon didn't want to. At least he would go near Buzz when Andrew held him.

We made it all day at the park.

We had a wonderful time but were very exhausted at the end of the day!

Libbie has been toying with the idea of actually walking for awhile, now. Every so often she would take on slight step then drop down. Tonight she took the plunge and took a few more. I was lucky enough to get a good attempt at walking on video, especially since Andrew isn't here to see it. I'm sure by next Friday (when Andrew comes back to Fl) we will be in a heap of trouble.

Fort Reno

Last week we headed on the metro, or the "big train", as Landon like to call it to Fort Reno Park. During the summer, the park host three bands every Monday & Thursday nights. We decided to check it out when the band Tiny Bombs was playing. One of the band members is a friend and a co-worker of mine.The shows are free and it's a family friendly environment. The kids, Andrew, and I loaded up with chairs and blankets then stopped by the local Whole Foods for some food to munch on while we listened to the music.
Some more co-workers joined us for the festivities. Dana, the one in purple, is Garrett's sister and also a good friend. The other two are Kevin, a guidance counselor and Allison, a math teacher.

I figured I should get an action shot. The music isn't particularly the type I would jam too but I did enjoy seeing Garrett doing something he enjoys and hanging with good company!
Miss Libbie didn't mind the company either. She's quite a fan of Dana!

T-R-O-U-B-L-E

This little girl is going to be TROUBLE! She is into everything and everywhere she can be. The other day at lunch, Libbie was in the highchair and managed to climb out and stand up on her own. I wasn't too surprised since those chairs aren't the best at keeping her contained. Well later that day, I put Libbie in her own highchair at home. I ran upstairs to put something away thinking all was good since she was in her highchair. When I came down I found this...

and instead of setting her back in or putting her on the floor, I pulled out my camera and started taking pictures!
It's crazy to see the differences between Landon & Libbie. Landon was a very content baby. He was fine where you put him, but wandered about. He never really got into things. Never put things in his mouth. I never really needed gates with Landon or had to worry about him getting himself into trouble. With Libbie, it's a different story. She is everywhere! She puts anything and everything in her mouth. She is constantly trying to figure things out, moving things...
We are in for a heap of trouble when she starts walking, which probably isn't too far away!
